in Averatec and Hardware.
Well, not officially but looks like it. ULTRA MOBILE PCs TIPS just posted about an article on I4U about the Avertec AHI. Now the original news site is in French and here is the translated Version.

Looks like avertec just created the AHI to compete with others like samsung and asus. But as the configuration it’s the same thing as any other UMPC. The only thing that seems to be different is the Screen size.
- Powered by INTEL Celeron ULV
- 512 MB of memroy
- 30 GB Storage Capacity
- 18.6 X 9.0 X 3.3 cm - 730g
- Wow 6 hours of battery life
- Touch Screen - 5″
- Runs Windows XP - what happened to the Tablet OS?
- Optional GPS and 3G add-ons
- Wifi, 2 USB 2.0 , Ethernet , Modem
- Built-in sliding keyboard.
- looks like it has a camera too

So for the pricing at 499 euros (~US $600) for the basic one and with all add-ons the so called luxury model would be 899 euros (~US $1090) available this Christmas. Now that’s an attractive price.

in Samsung.
Oh boy, when bill promised a device like UMPC and said it would cost around $500 to say a $900 and now Samsung was the only brand to announce their UMPC and the cost was about $1400 at few online retailers. Then came the Tablet kiosk which was better at $900 and now the Korean Version of Q1 is belived to be a whopping $2000 with all the accessories - No who needs one at this price? Not a soul in US I hope. (may be I’m wrong) but the price of a samsung q1 in korea is 4 times what gates told us it would be.
Engadget links to NewsWire (a korea Press release network) which reports that
This day the Samsung Electronics Q1 which is opened to the public the consumer price is 1199000 won (thats ~US $1240)

The Korea Times reports…

Samsung Electronics Wednesday said it will start to market the much-hyped mini-PC, or Origami, next month, but its high price and uncomfortable user interface are casting a doubt on its commercial viability.
The new product will be sold at around 1.2 million won ($1,200), which far exceeds Microsoft’s initial estimation of $500 to $700.
Samsung has been jointly developing the Q1 PC with Intel and Microsoft since last year. It is about half the size of an A4 sheet of paper.
“This cannot be a low-budget gadget. We have squeezed an entire circuit of a laptop PC into this Q1 PC,” said Kim Hun-soo, Samsung’s vice president of computer systems, during a press conference in Seoul.
“People may feel that the price is somewhat expensive because Microsoft has been saying that it would be around $500 to $1,000. But in reality, the price can’t be that low.” [Read on...]
