Uren V1 - Auto PC, Let’s just call it UMPC

A New addition to the UMPC family, Uren V1.

This 7″ wide screen car PC UMPC hybrid is called UREN (pronounced “you’re in?) and manufactured somewhere in Korea. It uses a 1GHz processor with 3D support and runs Windows XP operating system. Most of the information we could find on this was on pmpinside.com for a while but it was taken down shortly after it was posted.

UREN v1 measures 192 x 121 x 25 mm’s and weighs 700 grams. No idea how long the battery life is but we know it is 1800mAH. Its 1.8 HDD has a 30GB capacity which should be more than enough for most of your mobile needs. On the right side of the UREN v1 you’ll find two USB ports, audio out port, DMB antenna jack, as well as the stylus storage. On the left hand side you’ll see a miniSD slot and a compact flash slot and the DC jack. (any native Korean speaker may prove us wrong here).

On the back side of UREN v1 there’s an external GPS antenna a small integrated speaker and a camera lens. So we’re pretty sure it is capable of recording at least some short video clips. If you want to hook up your UREN to a projector, no worries, the included extension gives you a VGA out port and an ethernet port.

Toshiba’s multifunction prototype

We had some commotion about Toshiba entering the market when UMPC was launched, later they said no. Now it’s showing a prototype of a device which is really all in one, We are not sure what exactly it would be and if it’s going to make it in to production (without getting in to law suits from Nintendo)

it has two screens, at least one of which is a touchscreen meant to replace the keyboard. Not much other information is know. It runs Windows CE, has a slot for SD and is pretty portable…
