Josh Bancroft of TinyScreenfuls.com has the unboxing video of R2H with about 162 photos.

I have a ton of stuff to post about the R2H - it’s an incredible device. There are several videos I want to do, including one documenting running Windows Vista RTM on it (what I’ve been busy with for the last few days). But here’s something I want to share now, to whet your appetites for more R2H info

Asus R2H is now available in Australia (of course this has to be from Hugo)
Not only has Australia officially announced the release of the ASUS R2H Ultra Mobile PC, and the R1F Convertible Tablet, via Tegatech Australia, but the specs look pretty good too.
Given the maturity of the IT market in Australia and New Zealand it comes as no surprise that ASUS has held nothing back. The package Downunder includes all the usual International specifications but also the Bluetooth Keyboard and an External DVD RW. Interestingly it is one hundred dollars cheaper than the TabletKiosk i7210 so it will be interesting to see how this affects overall UMPC takeup.
Oh the price on this baby is at Australian $2199 which is US ~$1700.[via Uber Tablet]

There has been a lot of people asking about this. I managed to get it working. Here are the simple steps!
- Make sure you have at least the Vista Rc1 installed. A lot of drivers might have been installed when Vista does the automatic updates.
- For the rest of the drivers you could just use the driver backup CD from Asus
- Now for th wireless. Use the backup CD or download it from here and install the “Wireless Lan Driver and Application” Yes, it might install and will refuse to work.
- The easy fix. Restart, you’ll be prompted with an error about the “Wireless Lan Driver and Application” - Don’t worry
- Go to your Device Center and choose the wireless card and say “update driver” … and browse for the directory that you installed the application. (default being “Program Files > ASUS > WLAN Card Utilities”) Now assuming that you have the original xp untouched, you can browse the directory out there too.
- You’ll find a directory within named “Driver”. Choose that and say “OK”
- Tada… you have it working.
- Now go ahead and uninstall the application (WLAN Card Utilities), you really don’t need it, you can use Windows network manager.
Or the super duper easy way. Download the driver files from here (this is same as the one mentioned above) and get it going. If at all you run in to issues do post them here. I wonder why Asus has bundled the driver in an application.

So Have you wondered what that “Windows Vista Capable” means? Well according to Microsoft this is what it is!. So I installed the Vista RC1 (I’m still looking for the RC2 but could not get it -any clue?) The install was pretty straight, it was getting all the drivers which was way trickier than I thought.

So you see that R2H easily qualifies what Microsoft demands. Well does it do everything that is expected of it? That’s exactly what we wanted to find out. It takes about an hour to complete the full installation. Believe it or not “Vista is way better than the Windows XP Tablet Version on this device”.
