First Impression: Awesome.
So far so good, I bought the Samsung Q1 and returned the device within a couple of days, but this one is for me. I love the device so far (well its been only 6 hours since I started using it). The unit feels a bit heavy for the size and may be it’s just the first impression but believe me its really sturdy and has a great feel with the brushed metal finish.
I’m still getting used to the device. I was really surprised and happy to see that Asus has bundled the extended battery with it (not sure if it will be the default for all US models though). They also throw a case, mini mouse (still handles very well) and screen cleaning cloth. Make sure to come back for more detailed review.

in Asus and Shopping.
We just received our R2H from newegg. May be for the coming week you’ll see tones of stuff about the R2H. We’ll try to get as much details, test results, review, and install software on the Asus R2H. May be in next few hours we’ll update ya with stunning pictures of the unpacking of the R2H.

… actually we paid like a cent less than that $998.99 at newegg …
BTW: If any of you have any questions regarding the device, go ahead send in your comments and we’ll try to answer as much we can.

Sure enough there were so many of us waiting for the Asus R2H in the US. Today Lora over at Whatisnew found the device on newegg, yes Asus did say that the device will be available from all of their online retailers but none carried in the US except Dynamism(though they are not yet in the list from Asus)
Sure we did order ours, go ahead order yours now (oops they are out of stock!) but you could enter your email address and get notified when it becomes available.

Now, We know that the R2H ships with the GPS thingy, The problem now is to find the best software to use along with it. The Lucky guy(ZhuBaJie) who seems to be the only owner of the R2H is already doing his experiments on it and he needs some suggestions. (It’s funny that there are no directions on how to use the GPS!)
Looks like the R2H ships with Microsoft Autoroute 2006. Calling all the UMPC geeks out there what other programs could be used and which one would be the best considering this device a a sole GPS unit in a car?
