in Fujitsu and Specs.
Looks like Fujitsu is planning on packing a good deal of stuff on to its UMPC. The design which resembles more of a Tablet PC than a UMPC (so far), looks compact and nice.

From the specs, the size function of the unit will be very close to Sony UX series. Hope the price is not the same!
- Intel Sealey processor
- 1GB memory
- 40GB hard disk
- SD reader
- 2 cameras
- 5.6-inch (1024 x 600) display
- Two core battery and the optional four core battery that can last 7 hours.
No official word on it pricing or availability yet. The speculated availability is this summer.

We’ve seen prototypes of Fujitsu for a while (here, here, here and here) but this time its for real. They are coming after the announcement of the Ultra Mobile Platform 2007 from Intel at IDF.

No more details are known at this time, but the device looks cool and handy. Steve is on it and sure to have more updates sooner.
Looks like they are showing other UMPCs coming this summer including the “Menlow” — Intel’s prototype for 2008 (shown below)

Back in April Fujitsu came out with a concept of an UMPC, well more of a Origami (the folding type). Now they seem have a made a prototype of the device.
Taking the Origami principle to heart, Fujitsu reckon they’ve got the ultimate UMPC licked, with this swish design for a laptop which literally folds in half to fit your pocket.
Toting extra keys inside for gaming, the half-pint lappy also packs in a finger print reader, so all your data’s secure should it slip down the back of a stranger’s sofa.

This week has been a busy week, there are so many new products of interest being unveiled. We heard about Fujitsu working on such a device back in march. But this is more interesting.

This is just the size of a CD case and has touchscreen capabilities. With its size the company feels its would be used for a lot of mobile applications and music. It has a built in camera too.
Now, as for the specs nothing is disclosed yet. From the image they also seem to have some games being prepared for it. So is that screen something like the Microsoft Touchpack? Well we’ll have to wait and see. Does this look like a Mac Mini much smaller and kinda sliced?? (or is it just me)

Stuff magazine has an interesting article about the prototypes that fujitsu has come up with, These are different from the ones that we saw before

This UMPC would apparently be about the size of a CD case, and features a fold-out keypad – origami, folding, get it? – for easy web surfing and typing.
This sounds like a much more appealing user interface to us than using a stylus for all our computer work, a route chosen by Samsung and Asus’ first efforts. Like most impossibly clean-cut, minimalist concept designs, it also looks cooler than a polar bear’s bits, but we won’t get too excited until we’ve at least seen a prototype.

Fujitsu’s design team have also been having vodka-and-Red Bull fuelled brainstorming sessions on mobile phones too. The so-called ‘slider’ (below first) looks like a fine web-browsing smartphone, with built-in GPS judging by the maps on the screen.
The multi-slider (below second) is even more ingenious, with a virtual keypad that can slide in four different directions – boring old up, down, left and right we’re afraid – and display the appropriate keys to your chosen function.
Unfortunately, Fujitsu is just playing with us for the moment. There are no imminent real world versions of the designs, but if we keep asking in a whiny annoying voice, it might listen to us and make them one day.
