A few months back we covered a product by the same company named the “S43″ (check it out) which seemed more like the Vega since it was powered by Windows CE. Today at CeBIT they have launched the G series named the “iStation G43″ which they claim to be the smallest UMPC.

You might have noticed some peek of this device, but this time engadget has some good pictures of the device. The problem seems to be that they have kept the same specs as before and loaded up a new operating system.
- 4.3-inch, 800 x 480 touch-screen display
- runs an AMD Geode LX800/900 running at 500MHz
With this spec not sure if it will meet the expectations of a UMPC, We’ve seen devices with 1Ghz that seem to be slacking behind in performance. No word on availability yet.

in Asus and Hardware.
Asus has revealed a new successor of the R2H at CeBIT, this time more rugged and with built in keyboard — reports crave.

… Like the full-sized Rugged Military NB, it’s not designed for the everyday consumer. It’s for the sort of bloke/bird who might find themselves climbing a mountain, traversing the desert, or possibly fighting insurgents in hostile environments.
Asus wouldn’t say exactly how rugged it is, but this early prototype has a 7-inch 800×480-pixel screen, integrated GPS for satellite navigation, a 1.3-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and some form of Via processor. It’s completely fanless, so it’s silent, and its 3.5W power consumption means the battery should last a long time …

in Hardware and OQO.
You all know about the motion sensors in some of the latest notebooks. The OQO has ‘em too. This gets interesting when they add a voice of a little girl screaming if they deduct a free fall, and the power light turns red.
