Sling media today announced the UMPC skin for the player.
This skin is specially designed for UMPC owners who want to control the SlingPlayer with the touch-screen interface. Commonly used controls are displayed extra-large, and it has the same blue-ish theme that is default in the UMPC Program Launcher. Got a UMPC? Gotta get this skin!
Please note that you must be running SlingPlayer 1.2 or better to use the skin feature.

Hugo(Uber Tablet) talks about this software designed for the UMPC. A company named Apex Software based in US has released the new version of their MobileSketch which now supports UMPCs

I wonder how the Google’s SketchUp will look and work on a UMPC (I guess it would just be as good as any PC)

It was way back in march we discussed about what can the UMPC do? CTitanic has a posting on the performance of the Slingbox with his TabletKiosk, it’s an interesting read.
The video quality within the Home Network is “SUPER”. I can stream video at 1500 kbps via WiFi in my eo V7110. This picture does not look as good as it’s in the reality, but if you take a look you can see clearly the details in the bar with the score of the game. The video quality when I use SlingPlayer windowed is compare with what I see in my HDTV. The eo works stable at 600 MHz with a CPU Utilization of around 55 to 60%, that’s is good enough to let me run Outlook and some other little tools to take care of my business having the SlingPlayer working in background or just paused…

You bet, with such a portablity and the form factor Vongo is the perfect software for downloading and enjoying Movies. jkOnTheRun goes ahead with it and shares the good and bad about it.

I did run into two immediate problems, but found resolutions to both. If you’re beta testing the Office 2007 suite like I am you’ll have a .dll conflict when trying to run Vongo. A quick search online turned up the solution of renaming the offending .dll. I did that and Vongo launched without a problem; additionally, I’ve seen no ill-effects in Office 2007 as of yet.
The second problem had me totally confounded for about three days. After choosing a movie to download, the title would show up in my Vongo Download Manager and then simply disappear. No error message, no warning, it just disappeared. Thinking it was firewall related, I made changes and opened some ports to Vongo per some technical support information, but nothing seemed to help. This issue wasn’t just on the Q1; it was on my desktop as well, so I knew it wasn’t specifically related to the UMPC [..]

Kevin open his Q1 again, this time with a purpose. James had made a good guide to those who like to upgrade the RAM.
So “Sammy” went under the knife again. This time it wasn’t just to see his private parts, it was to upgrade his memory from 512 MB to 1 GB of DDR2 RAM. You can see by my snipping here that he was only functioning with half his capable memory, so a planned purchase from last week that was sitting in a box was the ticket. Just why do they need a 1 cubic foot box for a small RAM module, anyway? Well, that’s besides the point: if you’re a faithful watcher of E.R. or just want to know how to upgrade the RAM on a Q1, this one’s for you [...]
