Seamless WiFi’s S-XGen - Yet another UMPC!

How did we miss this? If you’ve been reading about the UMPC’s then you should have come across carrypad.com’s definition of an UMPC, in that case this is an UMPC. Microsoft and some other do have a varied defenition of the device. In anycase this device is placed between the palm tops and laptops (so you decide)

According to Seamless Wifi this new device while maintaining its small size, has been specifically designed with a fully deployable folding “QWERTY� keyboard for data manipulation and navigation allowing the user ease of access. It has a 4 inch high definition screen that provides a clear and crisp screen display. The unit is extremely versatile and will come as a completely loaded Wireless working computer. It is “Blue tooth� enabled and can be used as well as an entertainment and gaming unit. The unit will also contain the Seamless patent-pending encryption software incorporated into its system to protect sensitive information.

After long time, Finally Asus announced the R2H with the following spec, thought this is kind of different from the one that we heard of

  • Onboard 256MB, DDRII 533, 1x SoDimm socket for expansion up to 768MB DDRII 667 DRAM support

  • Bluetooth® V2.0 + EDR, 3x USB, 1x SD Card-Reader, 1x GPS, 1x Finger Print Reader
  • 23.4 x 13.3 x 2.8cm, 830 kg (update: Carrypad calls this a HEAVY BEAST and still asus has not corrected it)

Samsung Q1b details emerge

Q1 was there and we have had dozens of reviews. Let’s welcome the Q1b which might be in some ways better configured than the Q1.

The Q1b will be powered by a VIA VX700 integrated chipset, which might give some better battery performance. Upto 1GB of Ram and 60 GB Hard drive. Other than that there is no much difference between the two.

It’s all about the price and options, You’ll get the UMPC with a FREE flexible keyboard and the recent press release also notes that, a small adapter which will plugs into the base of the unit and is expected to cost less than twenty dollars when released later this month. So a Dock! or something like that for less thatn 20 bucks.
