The most annoying at least for me was to use the navigation key and guess button that I wanted to click. This happens when the dialog is larger than the display itself. Unless you have an external monitor connected, it’s a hard thing to do. If you’ve experienced what we are talking about, this tool is for you.

Vikram has posted an article on various aspects of screen and resolution on a UMPC. He also has a nifty utility for download (works only on vista) that could get you to hit those hidden buttons.

When we installed Vista on the Asus R2H we did face a lot of issues but that was when Vista was in it’s beta. Now after the launch of Vista a lot of people seem to having varied opinions.
Again, if you are planning on a new computer chances are it would be pre-installed with Vista (most of the drivers and things might just work). But if you are upgrading think again and you may want to keep your Existing OS. Oh speaking of which — if you have bought a Vista Upgrade package, here is a Workaround Discovered For “Clean Install” With Vista Upgrade DVDs.

About a month back there was a news about the World’s lightest and the smallest Apple Tablet PC / UMPC. Well this was custom built one. If you’ve not heard/seen it in action here it is.
For those of you who still have some doubts on what we posted yesterday about Mac OS X on the Asus R2H, here is some more interesting stuff. Igor just sent us the video of the Asus R2H booting up the Mac OS X and how some of the applications run with the touch screen. This is awesome. For those who have been waiting for the Apple Tablet wait no more, Buy your favorite Tablet PC and install the Mac OS X.

Yes you read it right. We feel it’s not going to be easy and you might be in great deal of issues. But one of our reader Igor sent us this email.
Today I had too much free time on my hands and didn’t know what to do with it so I picked up my Asus R2H and installed Mac OS X 10.4.7 on it (yes you read it
right). After some try-and-errors I finally managed to install it. Errors during installation were caused by my bad installation DVD. After replacing it the installation went very smooth. The installation process took about 45 minutes. The installation is not designed for 800 x 480 resolution, so you cannot se back and next buttons.
OS boot takes about 1min and 10 sec. UI is pretty slow, but it is not that annoying. This is most annoying Screen calibration is off, Most of the devices don’t work except Bluetooth and LAN. Will try to find as many drivers I can.
Not just the email he had sent us some pictures too.

We did post some details about how the Asus R2H works with Vista, Josh of Tinyscreenfuls just posted a 30 minute video about Vista RTM on Asus R2H.

… I cover the installation process (went smooth), what worked right out of the gate (surprisingly, almost everything), what required some extra tweaking and driver installation (WiFi, etc.). Lots of general usage, including some appearances by OneNote 2007 and using Word 2007 to post to my blog.
I’ve since gone back to Windows XP – I talk about the reasons in depth on the video. Nothing major, but a combination of small quirks that I’m confident will be fixed down the line with driver and software updates from Asus …
