Digital Cube’s iStation G43

A few months back we covered a product by the same company named the “S43″ (check it out) which seemed more like the Vega since it was powered by Windows CE. Today at CeBIT they have launched the G series named the “iStation G43″ which they claim to be the smallest UMPC.

You might have noticed some peek of this device, but this time engadget has some good pictures of the device. The problem seems to be that they have kept the same specs as before and loaded up a new operating system.

  • 4.3-inch, 800 x 480 touch-screen display
  • runs an AMD Geode LX800/900 running at 500MHz

With this spec not sure if it will meet the expectations of a UMPC, We’ve seen devices with 1Ghz that seem to be slacking behind in performance. No word on availability yet.

Hands-on with Digital Cube’s “world’s smallest” UMPC: the G43 [ engadget ]

Do you know if this product will ever enter the U.S. market and if so when?

@Ben: I’m guessing even if they are not planning to launch it in US, Companies like Dynamism (http://dynamism.com) will do so. As for the availability it’s not clear yet.
