MID VS the iPhone & iPod touch

As Intel is working hard to push its MID (Mobile Internet Devices). Apple just launched a new line of iPod the “iPod touch” and lowered its price on the high-end iPhone by $200 making it even more attractive to the consumers.

Both MID and Apple’s iPod and iPhone have a lot of similarities and features. Be it internet or the connectivity options or the touch screens. It’s hard, at this time to decide on which would be more popular platform. Will Apple enter in to the UMPC Market or have they already?

I really love your website, but I’m confused to why you made a post about MID’s/PDAs? Functionality and features can’t even come close to an UMPC. It’s a new market manufacturers will lose in the long run with the costs of R&D that consumers will never buy into.

Your website is named “only UMPC” right?

@ Dr. Drew: You’re right its all Only UMPC. We thought it would be to good to cover those devices that are almost UMPCs (of course they are not UMPCs)

Joe, thanks for the reply. No worries, I love your site. Btw, do you know of any videos of someone demonstrating the advantages as an everyday person, using a UMPC and its core benefits? All of us “power users” know ALL the amazing benefits to having one, but are there videos you’ve seen that would attract the everyday person into buying one?
