Should we say: UMPCs are catching up!

It’s been well over a year since the UMPCs were announced. The first generation of UMPCs were not that promising, but the second generation devices seem to be more powerful, sleeker, smarter, lighter and better performing. With such devices soon to hit the shelves there has been a lot of media (those that are more news & business focused than just technology) coverage on these devices lately. Here is a run down.

  • New York times
An article that states “The Size of a Paperback and Most of the Functions of a Real PC” — though it does not cover a lot of details, but does give the public an idea of UMPCs.
  • Business week
They have done good job of taking some of the well known and already available UMPCs out there and giving it a whole picture of these devices, their capabilities and links to reviews of these devices.Though some of them might not be fully called an UMPC

Check it out — Take your pick: Portable PCs

  • BBC
Again giving the general public a picture of what these devices are for and what they are capable of. Oh by the way — Mark from BBC and I had few email exchanges about the future of the device and where it is heading. Thanks to Mark for quoting us alongside. — Over here
