Laptopmag has got the detailed review of the Asus Eee PC. Looks like they are really satisfied and happy with the performance and with the overall design. Starting from the Interface to Size to Apps to Performance, things seem really good.
In many ways, too, the Eee PC is a new-and-improved version of the Internet appliance concept, as its easy-to-tote, easy-to-use design makes it simple for anyone to get online.
When it comes to road warriors, the Eee PC runs circles around UMPCs powered by Vista and XP in terms of performance, price, and ease of use, but not application support. Despite a few issues, such as a webcam not yet optimized for online video chats, the Eee PC is also a worthy alternative to devices like the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet. The Nokia is more pocket-friendly, is Bluetooth-enabled for using a cell phone as a modem, and has a built-in GPS receiver, but the Asus sports a better keyboard, can be connected to a big-screen monitor, and is $80 cheaper…

Asus has published the details of the Eee PC. If you have been thinking that $800 or above is too much for an UMPC take a look at this. Though initially this was supposed to be launched at $199, the price has gone up to $299 - $399 depending on the configuration. Personally even after the price hike this seems like a good deal. Note that these devices sports a SSD and comes loaded with Linux and weighs less than a kg (that’s ~2 lbs)

When Nokia initially launched the Internet tablet, one of the main issues was the lack of keyboard (if only had a on-screen one). With N810 fans of Nokia have the sliding QWERTY built in to the product and a GPS receiver. The N810 will be powered by maemo Linux based OS2008, which just means it’s open for any one to write other apps…

The second generation of the product named the SPH-9200 which is very similar to the previous SPH-9000 but the size and configuration. Surprisingly the device does not have bluetooth.
